Close to Champoeg (within 35 mins)
Lady Hill Winery is across the street from Champoeg, or take a local wine tour!
Portland Urban Forests
Choose from a plethora of manicured arboretums and internationally-recognized gardens. Seek out waterfalls, an iconic mansion, or even a witch’s castle!
International Rose Test Garden - Portland Japanese Garden - World Forestry Center
End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center
You’ve lost 2 oxen fording the river and a member of your party died of dysentery.
Going Beyond (within 2 hrs)
The Pacific Coast
Beat the August heat and spend a day cooling off in the Pacific Ocean! There are quite a few spots between Lincoln City and Pacific City to enjoy. (1-1/2 hrs)
Oh yeah, Chee-eeeeese!
A little further out at 1-3/4 hrs, but it’s also close to the coast. Visit the ocean and stop for cheese and ice cream on the way back! Take a self-guided tour of the creamery for free, or reserve a guided tour. Sounds like a perfect day!
Columbia River Gorge
& Mt. Hood
Hop on a shuttle for an awe-inspiring tour of Columbia Gorge waterfalls (Multnomah and more!). Make a full day of it and include Mt. Hood. Book early - these tours sell out.
Honestly, we couldn’t list all the amazing options available. Visit “Travel Oregon” of Trip Advisor for more ideas! Have fun!
